What is a PRP?

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is part of your blood that contains growth factors to promote repair in the treated area. Your blood is drawn and processed for treatment in your treatment areas. It can encourage the body to produce new collagen and elastin, promote faster tissue healing and cell regeneration, stimulate hair growth, and reduce the appearance of scars.

When can I expect results?

Results are different for each client but are expected to be long-lasting due to the new collagen production.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments is different for each client. On average, we recommend treatment sessions every 4-6 weeks. For maintenance, treatment is recommended 1-2 times per year.

Will I need time to recover?

For injections, bruising and swelling are possible. Give yourself two weeks before any events/vacations. Recovery from PRP with microneedling lasts from 1-2 days with reddened skin and no peeling.

What are Natural Growth Factors?

A natural growth factor is a protein the body produces to regulate cell division and differentiation. Growth factors are critical in promoting cellular growth, healing, and cellular differentiation. They are naturally occurring substances, usually found in the blood. In the context of aesthetic treatments like PDGF, PRF, and Exosomes, natural growth factors are extracted or concentrated from your own bodily fluids and then reintroduced to target specific areas, such as the skin or hair follicles, to promote healing, rejuvenation, or growth. These growth factors work by signaling cells to repair damaged tissue or produce new cells, offering a range of therapeutic and aesthetic benefits.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is a concentrated form of your own plasma, rich in platelets vital for healing and tissue regeneration. It’s prepared by drawing a small blood sample and spinning it in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets.

Aesthetic Uses Of PRP

PRP is popular in aesthetics for its natural collagen-boosting properties. Common uses include:

  • Facial Rejuvenation: Reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Hair Restoration: Stimulates hair follicles for growth.
  • Skin Improvement: Treats acne scars and discoloration.
  • Skin Tightening: Often used with microneedling for better results.

How PRP Works

PRP releases growth factors that trigger natural healing and collagen production, leading to rejuvenated skin and activated hair follicles. It’s a safe, low-risk treatment since it uses your own blood.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

PRF is an advanced version of PRP that includes white blood cells and fibrin, forming a gel-like substance. It’s created through a specialized, slower centrifugation process.

Aesthetic Uses Of PRF

PRF is used in aesthetics for:

  • Facial Rejuvenation: Improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles.
  • Hair Restoration: Promotes thicker, healthier hair.
  • Scar Treatment: Reduces acne scars and skin imperfections.
  • Lip and Under-Eye Enhancement: Offers natural augmentation and treats dark circles.

How PRF Works

The fibrin matrix in PRF allows for a slow release of growth factors, leading to longer-lasting results than PRP. These growth factors stimulate collagen production and activate hair follicles, among other benefits.

Exosomes

Exosomes are tiny cell-released vesicles that act as cellular messengers, carrying proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. Exosomes are injected into your target area, allowing the natural growth factors to work their magic.

Aesthetic Uses Of Exosomes

Exosomes are used in aesthetics for:

  • Facial Rejuvenation: Improves skin and reduces wrinkles.
  • Hair Restoration: Encourages hair growth and thickness.
  • Scar Treatment: Reduces scars and skin discoloration.
  • Skin Tightening: Enhances other skin-tightening treatments.

How Exosomes Work

Exosomes deliver growth factors and other molecules to target cells, stimulating cellular repair and regeneration for improved aesthetics.

The result is improved skin quality, reduced signs of aging, and, in the case of hair restoration, stimulation of hair follicles for better growth. Because they are involved in cellular communication and repair, exosomes are considered a cutting-edge treatment in regenerative medicine and aesthetics.
