Microneedling is an effective, non-invasive, and painless way to improve skin texture, surface scarring, and fine wrinkles. It uses a special device with tiny needles to prick the skin to create micro-channels (small holes). The result is a reduction in acne scarring, stretch marks, sun damage, cellulite, fine lines, and wrinkles and is beneficial for all skin types with little to no downtime. This procedure can be performed on the face, neck, and décolleté and is suitable to be used in place of other techniques that cannot treat delicate areas, such as around the eyes. Microneedling induces the production of new collagen, growth factors, and elastin to repair the skin, and the excess is used to strengthen the skin, leading to long-term skin rejuvenation.
What is microneedling?
Using a special device with tiny needles, microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin. Micro-injuries cannot be seen by the naked eye, but the body’s natural healing response and collagen and elastin production are induced, promoting healing and a more youthful appearance.
Who can benefit from microneedling?
Patients who are looking for a non-invasive procedure to improve texture concerns, fine lines, wrinkles, or acne scars, microneedling is beneficial. Microneedling is typically used to treat the face, neck, and décolleté area.
Is microneedling painful?
To make you more comfortable and at ease during the procedure, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin before treatment.
When will I see the results?
Your skin will appear refreshed within 1-2 weeks following treatment. We recommend a series of 3-6 treatments every four weeks for optimal results.
What is the recovery time?
Your skin may look like you have a sunburn following treatment. It may last the remainder of the day and up to three or four days following treatment. Be gentle to your skin following treatment and avoid exposure to the sun.
