How Does Kybella Work?

Kybella contains deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that breaks down and absorbs dietary fat. When injected into subcutaneous fat, it destroys the fat cell membrane.

Is Kybella Permanent?

Yes. Once the fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat.

Will there be skin laxity?

In most cases, no, because the inflammation causes skin tightening.

Who is a good candidate for Kybella?

Adults over 18 with moderate to severe submental fat (double chin and other stubborn fat areas such as the ones listed on our website) who prefer a non-surgical option. It is less effective for those with significant loose skin, often described as having "excessive skin laxity".
